We are happy to announce that the Foundation for Polish Science awarded us with additional funding of a new task, performed in collaboration with the group of Prof. Maciej Wojtkowski from the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The new task is entitled "Development of a femtosecond frequency-doubled Er-doped fiber laser". It will be carried out in collaboration with the group of Prof. Maciej Wojtkowski. Within this task, we will develop a novel measurement setup of a scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) for two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) for retinal imaging, with a compact and cost-effective femtosecond Erbium-doped fiber laser as an excitation source.
The addidional funding of 600000 PLN will be intended mailny for purchase of materials (components) necessary for the development of a novel femtosecond light source for TPEF measurements and for hiring a new member of the team (a senior research engineer) responsible for the development of the laser prototype.
