Between 1.10 - 5.10.2018 Grzegorz Soboń visited the Optical Frequency Comb Spectroscopy Group led by our partner, Dr. Aleksandra Foltynowicz, at Umeå University in Sweden.
It was the first visit in the frame of the Project. The goal of the meeting was to discuss the parameters of the mid-infrared frequency comb sources which will be developed in Wrocław. The comb sources will be afterwards used in Umeå for preliminary experiments with laser spectroscopy and detection of various molecules. During the visit, Grzegorz Soboń gave a lecture on ultrashort-pulsed fiber lasers during a weekly department seminar for the scientists and students working at the Physics Department. He had also the opportunity to visit the lab and test one of the new nonlinear fibers which will be used for frequency conversion in our combs. The effect is very spectacular, as can be seen on the attached photo!
